  • How many types of refrigerators are there in the market?

    Basically, there are 4 types.

    1. Top-freezer refrigerators
    Top-freezer refrigerators are the most economical to buy and many still find this style of freezer section the most convenient. They are the most popular choice when it comes to capacity ranges.

    2. Bottom-freezer
    This model offers a choice of pull-out or door-access frozen food compartment. While some like this style of refrigerator, others do not. This style influences the ticket price considerably and models offering a bottom freezer tend to be in the larger capacity refrigerators.

    3. Side by side refrigerators
    This type of refrigerator offer lots of convenience when it comes to having more frozen foods easily accessible. They're very affordable, look stylish and the narrow door swing is a good choice for small kitchens. However, they are only available in models with 450L and above.

    4. French-door refrigerators
    French-door refrigerators will cost you much more but with this style, it's easier to place trays and bulky items and they usually offer lots of cold food storage and an ample freezer compartment. You'll only find this style of refrigerator in the larger capacity models.

  • What size / capacity is most suitable for my family?

    Once you've established set-up and type, you can decide on capacity. If this will be your main refrigerator, size this appliance to meet your family's needs. Buying an overly large refrigerator which may remain partially empty will only use more kitchen space and increase purchase and energy costs. If you're buying a spare or beverage refrigerator, a compact model under 300L may be sufficient. A 400L size can be adequate for a family of 4, but a 510 – 620L or higher would be better for a large family.

  • How full can I pack my freezer?

    There is generally no limit to how full it can be. Just take care not to block air vents. For best efficiency, try to keep it at least half full.

  • How full can I pack my refrigerator?

    Refrigerators work best if they're not packed full, because the air flow becomes restricted which limits cooling capability.

  • What temperature should I set for my fridge and freezer?

    The default temperature you should set for the freezer and refrigerator compartment when you have a digital control are –18 degrees Celsius and 3 degrees Celsius respectively.

  • Can I change the doors from one side to the other?

    You can reverse the doors of some models. Consult the user manual of your refrigerator / freezer to get the proper instructions. If you no longer have the manual, but do have the model number of your refrigerator, you can order the manual at our consumer care center.

  • Can shelves be added to the refrigerator / freezer?

    Usually, if there is room in your unit for an additional shelf and the necessary hardware in the walls and/or ceiling, you can add a shelf. To order the shelf from our consumer care center, you will need the model number of the unit.

  • Does Electrolux refrigerators have Plasma Clusters feature?

    Plasma Clusters is just a name for deodorizing technology, in Electrolux it is called Freshtaste Deodoriser or Deo Fresh System.

  • How much clearance do I need behind my refrigerator / freezer?

    If the unit has a large black, grid-like device on the back, you should leave at least 1 inch of space between the grid and the wall, and avoid "building-in" the appliance. If there is no grid on the back, you may push the unit all the way to the wall.

  • What is Energy Efficiency?

    Buying an Energy Star rated refrigerator assures you that it meets certain energy efficiency targets. When shopping, take time to compare energy guide labels to see which refrigerators cost less to operate.

  • What is the most suitable location for the refrigerator in the kitchen?

    It should not be place near heat source i.e. next to the hob where the cooking is and next to the window where there is direct sunlight.

  • Does my refrigerator / freezer need any routine maintenance?

  • How do I dispose off my old refrigerator/freezer?

    Some local municipalities or private enterprises that provides bulky waste removal services who will pick up units and properly dispose of them, though often for a nominal fee. Check with yours to find out what to do.

  • How long is the warranty period for Electrolux refrigerator?

    The appliance warranty policy period for Electrolux refrigerator is 1 year for general parts and 10 years for the compressor from the date of purchase.
